What are you learning: All students will learn about the principles of design while finishing their drawing, will know where everything is in the studio, understand grading procedures, and take the pretest to determine how much you know. Then all students will determine studio agreements because how do we balance freedom and structure within art class, with groups of 3-4, determining the do's and don'ts of the studio. Afterwards, they will make their own individual websites (as this is how you turn in your work), give to O'Ryan, and then get to know your teacher. Why is this important? - It's valuable to know how to function within a groups studio session, so that you do not tick off each other or most importantly, Ms. O'Ryan. - You need to know how to turn in your artwork to get graded. How are you demonstrating this learning: Monday: -Check in for class. -Tour of the classroom. (Start with tables 1-3, then 4-6) 10 mins. -Sit in assigned seats. Can't remember? Click here. -Get out your drawing and grab pastel and colored pencils for the table. (25 mins) -Follow along with O'Ryan learning about color and texture, and how this impacts emphasis of a piece. Hint: new principle of design. -Clean up. Reminder on cleaning procedures. (5 mins) Tuesday: -Check in for class. -Studio time Do's and Don't. Group activity at your table deciding what is an example of an active working student, and what is not. (20 mins) -Review of Grading procedures, syllabus,, and website. (20 mins) Block Day -Friday: New Seating Chart. -(6 mins) Mindfulness Activity and 3 min. meditation. -(2 mins) Check in for class. -(30 mins) Grab your still life artwork and add in the finishing touches of color and value. Each shape should have color added to it. Look at examples on the cabinets for ideas. Once completed, sign your name in the bottom right corner, write your name clearly on the back and turn in at the front of class. - (10 mins) Complete the exit ticket. - (Today and tomorrow) Pre-test time. Click here for pretest. Find slide 4 and get started. When done, write name on back, sign your name in the bottom right corner and turn in to O'Ryan. -Clean up. Reminder on cleaning procedures. (5 mins)
