To my students:Even though this is our good-bye, please view it as an opportunity to understand change. You will continue with your education, as will I. If anything, I hope that I have become a great role model in work ethic, that we are always learning, and knowing when you have fulfilled the needs of the current role. For yourself, I hope you find careers that you love, passionate about, and that you work with others that get you up in the morning with excitement. If not, move on. Your skills can be utilized elsewhere.
Pick a path that contributes to the community. Why do I say this? We are so focused on ourselves in this society but at the end of the day we all need one another, so contribute to that success. You spend so much time on your phones viewing others' lives because you ultimately need each other. So contribute to the community in a positive way. Many hands make light work and each of us can pitch in to make this place easier for all. I'm leaving you with some quotes to think about because they have guided me. You have a purpose and a role, so go find it. We find it by doing, by failing, and by eventually succeeding. I want you to stop being afraid to fail because failure is the wisest teacher of all. Lastly, I want to leave you with one piece of vital advice: People will not remember what you know, but they will remember how you made them feel when they were with you. Be good to others. I'm so proud of all of you and wish for you lives of satisfying hard work and contentment. Sincerely, Emily O'Ryan [email protected]
